Management of the Institute of Economic Sciences

Jovan Zubović, PhD (1970), Principal Research Fellow, has been the director of the Institute of Economic Sciences since 2015. During his decades-long career, he made significant contributions to the development of modern economic research, with a special focus on the economics of health, particularly on the economics of tobacco. Currently, he manages the project "Improving the policy of taxation of tobacco products", which is implemented with the support of the Bloomberg Foundation. His research interests encompass the fields of labor economics and agricultural economics, underscoring a consistent commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and analytical precision.

Actively participates in the work of national bodies and institutions. He is a member of the Commission for Acquiring Scientific Titles at the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia. With his professional authority and long-term experience, he contributes to the development of the scientific community and the affirmation of socio-economic research in the Republic of Serbia.

Slavica Stevanović, PhD (1977) is a Principal Research Fellow and assistant director for finance. During her professional career, she has made significant contributions to the field of economic research, with a special focus on environmental economics, corporate governance, corporate reporting, and cash flow analysis.

She has participated in the implementation of fundamental research projects, as well as projects in the field of financial management and environmental economics, where she has gained significant experience in applying theoretical models to specific challenges of contemporary economic practice. She has managed a scientific project in the field of environmental economics, which has further affirmed her expertise in this interdisciplinary field.

In addition to her scientific and project-research engagement, Dr. Slavica Stevanović is also one of the editors of the professional publication "National Network of Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Republic of Serbia", published by the Institute of Economic Sciences. Through this publication, she actively contributes to the analysis and development of the small- and medium-sized enterprise sector as a key segment of the domestic economy.
