IES researcher participated in the CHERN Training School in Copenhagen

Danijela Stojanović, PhD, participated in the COST Action: CA18215 - China In Europe Research Network, in the training "Trainingschool on Digital Methods".

The training entitled "Introduction to computational methods in contemporary Chinese studies - learn by doing" was held on April 28 and 29, 2022 at the Nordic Institute for Asian Studies (NIAS), University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

The training was organized by: China in Europe Research Network CHERN, Nordic Institute for Asian Studies NIAS, University of Copenhagen, Denmark and Centre for East Asian Studies CEAS, University of Turku, Finland.

About twenty participants from all over Europe took part in the training, and Danijela Stojanović is the only one from the Western Balkans who was admitted to the CHERN training.

Trainers at the training were Christian Göbel, university professor of Modern China Studies at the University of Vienna, who gave a lecture on "An introduction to topic modeling", and Jun Liu associate professor in the Department of Communications at the University of Copenhagen, with a topic "An introduction to Semantic Network Analysis”.

Two zoom-webinars were also held. Lectures were given by Joanne Kuai, on “Media innovation in China and its implications on contemporary China research”, and Eric Zhang on “Contemporary Chinese Digital Materials in the Big-data Era”.
