Dr. Vesna Aleksić, Principal Research Fellow of the Institute of Economic Sciences and the head of the Center for Economic History, participated by invitation at the international scientific conference "Serbian-American partnership throughout the centuries," which was held on the 5th and 6th of July, 2022 at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. On the occasion of marking 140 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and the United States of America, the conference was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Dragan R. Simić, the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Serbia, Christopher Hill, as well as the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development in the Government of the Republic of Serbia Branko Ružić. Dr. Aleksić presented in the panel “Serbian (Yugoslav) - American Relations From 1871 to 1941: Seven Decades of Search for the Protector (Guardian)” with the topic "Mihajlo Pupin and the American Technical Mission in Serbia in 1919".
