The conference was organized by the Higher Education Institution for Applied Studies for Entrepreneurship under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Institute of Agricultural Economics. Over 50 participants form the country and abroad took part and presented their papers at the conference.The main topic of the conference was the economic and social crisis in Serbia and the \"global village\". It was emphasized that the countries are in different stages of capitalism development. Therefore, there was the need to redefine the term \"modern capitalism\" that has to take into account the changed parameters, ie the fact that modern civilization fairly raised the criterion level related to the definition of economic and technological development, standards of living, dignity of labor, social justice, solidarity, personal liberty, freedom and human rights.
