SNR “Uvac” is a unique natural area that is characterized by pure nature, great scenery that make up the meanders in canyons of Uvac, accumulation of water as natural capital reserves of drinking water on one side, and at the same time it serves as a resource for the production of clean and sustainable forms of energy, on the other side.

A very rare and protected species of eagle – griffon vulture lives in this reserve. The reserve is one of their largest habitats in Europe.

A particular aspect of research relates to the utilization of river basin water resources that form artificial lakes on the river Uvac and other tributaries, and which are used for one of the most efficient economically and ecologically desirable way of producing electricity.

A part of the team, IES associates on this project, took an extensive video material, which parts will be presented as the attachment to the study.

The special value of this empirical research makes the fact that a number of young IES colleagues and associates had an opportunity to participate directly in the field and gained an experience in the implementation of such an interesting and complex research.

IES associates owe great gratitude to the employees of SNR “Uvac” Ltd for the great help they gave us in the realization of this research.
