The second meeting of the working group

The second meeting of the working group engaged on the project Policy Dialogue in the Field of Social Sciences in Serbia within the Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Field of Social Sciences in the Western Balkans (RRPP) has been organized at the Institute of Economic Sciences on the 13th March 2012

The working group members discussed the quality of research in social sciences and the evaluation of scientific results; the concrete proposals of system solutions and incentives that would improve the research quality are presented and discussed. Moreover, they analyzed the issues and challenges that young researchers face. Conclusions of the round table on the Position of Young Researchers in Serbia, held in Novi Sad on 24^th February 2012, presented at the meeting were a useful starting point for the discussion. Furthermore, a team within the working group has developed and introduced measures for greater recognition of the role of social sciences in the formulation of public policies, which are discussed in detail. Finally, the working group analyzed the possibilities and modalities for the establishment of the association of the researchers/organizations in the field of social sciences.
