On 8 November 1975, under the patronage of the UN, the International Center for Public Enterprises in Developing Countries was established. The Centre gathered the representatives of more than 40, mostly non-aligned countries. In 1991, ICPE headquarters moved to Ljubljana. The Center’s activities were primarily focused on strengthening the role and promotion of public companies. The Center also had other activities aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, education, and publishing activities. The IES representatives attended the ceremony celebrating 35 years of successful work of the Centre.
Besides the ICPE Director -Dr. Stefan Bogdan Šalej and one of the founders and honorary President - Dr. Anthony Vratuša, the meeting was addressed by the President of the Republic of Slovenia - Danilo Türk, and dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, President, Council ICPE.
On behalf of all employees of the Institute, IES Director handed a suitable gift to ICPE Director - Prof. Dr. Šalej as a sign of deepest respect and wish to continue the successful cooperation. The celebration ended with a cocktail where the guests could gather and get to know each other.
