Activities presentation of the RRPP

On October 26, 2010, at the Institute of Economics - Local Coordination Unit of the Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Western Balkans (RRPP), the meeting on the occasion of the presentation of the activities within the RRPP and signing of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with partner organizations from Serbia was held.

Prof. Dr. Dejan Erić, director of the Institute of Economic Sciences, and Ms. Beatrice Meyer, director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, opened the event with a welcome address on the importance of support for the research in social sciences in Serbia and the role of the Swiss Confederation. Furthermore, current and future activities within the Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Western Balkans (RRPP) were presented by Ms. Bojana Radovanovic a local coordinator of the RRPP in Serbia, and Ms. Andjela Lalovic, a local coordinator of the RRPP in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The partner organizations presented their projects and the activities realized during the first quarter of the project implementation. The event ended with signing the MoU between the Institute of Economic Sciences as an RRPP Local Coordination Unit and the partner organizations.

The Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Western Balkans (RRPP) funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by the Institute for Central and Eastern Europe, University of Fribourg, Switzerland aims at strengthening research capacity in Albania, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. The program supports the development of research in social sciences, particularly those relevant to social transformation, and provides a platform for the cooperation of researchers from the Western Balkan Region.
