
Žarko Mrkušić (1915 - 2001) was born in Podgora (Croatia). He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb (1940) and the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade (1947), where he received his doctorate in 1963. He was a professor at the Economic Faculty in Subotica and Belgrade, as well as the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade. From 1975, he was a full professor of foreign trade and foreign exchange business at the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka, and from 1980 to 1986, he was a professor at the Faculty of Hotel Management in Opatija. His notable work includes: International Finance: Theory and Practice (1968), International Economic Relations (1973), Economics of International Development (1974), New International Economic Order (1976), Foreign Trade and Foreign Exchange Operations (1982), Organization and Economics of International Product Exchange, services and knowledge (1983).
