
Vojislav Bajić (1938) was born in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo in 1961. He completed his postgraduate studies in International Economic Relations at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, and defended his master's thesis in 1967. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 1979 at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo. In March 1963, he was appointed as an assistant at the Sarajevo Economic Institute, and in 1986, he was awarded the title of Scientific Associate. In 1990, he was elected a professor of International Economic Relations at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, and in 1991, he was appointed director of the Sarajevo Institute of Economics. From 1994, he worked at the Institute of Economic Sciences in Belgrade (IES) as an assistant director, and from 1999 to 2001, he held the position of director of the IES.
He was a member of the Scientific Society of the Association of Economists of Yugoslavia, as well as an associate of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI). He has published nearly 200 papers, with numerous presentations at international scientific meetings in the country and abroad. He managed the creation of numerous scientific research projects commissioned by UNCTAD in Geneva, GTZ in Frankfurt, the WTO, and the Ministry of International Economic Relations of Serbia. He is registered as an expert in UNCTAD.
