Mining Between Heritage and Future: Economic, Social, and Environmental Perspectives

The Institute of Economic Sciences hosted the international conference "Mining Between Heritage and Future: Economic, Social, and Environmental Perspectives" on November 13–14, 2025.

The conference brought together numerous researchers from prestigious institutions who explored the economic, social, historical, and environmental aspects of mining across five thematic panels – from medieval mines to contemporary debates on lithium extraction.

The keynote lecture was delivered by Prof. Slobodan P. Simonović (Western University, Canada) and Dr. Milica Kočović De Santo (IES) on dynamic modeling of non-renewable resource utilization.
