Visit of Branko Živanović, PhD, BBA Professor to SAA Turin

 

Visit period: 15-25 March, 2009

Activities: During this visit to SAA Professor Živanović performed three main tasks:

  1. Curriculum and teaching material development for SAA-BBA joint lecture course in Banking Management BBA
  2. Working visit to the corporate department of Banca Intesa SanPaolo, Turin (Piemonte regione)
  3. Visit to Master BBA students on Tempus program at SAA

1. Curriculum and teaching material development – Prof. Živanović enjoyed greatly his counterpart with Prof. Marco Ellia on crafting new banking course outlines, including new and current material, academic journal researches and case studies from Italian and Serbian banking practice. The professors exchanged their experience on teaching methods and student class participation. Coming from complementary banking fields, Prof. Elia from microfinance and Prof. Živanović from corporate landing, they reached a high level of synergy and successfully constituted implementation and development of the course syllabus that is to be carried out jointly by Prof. Živanović and Prof. Elia at BBA.

2. Working visit to the corporate department of Intesa SanPaolo Bank, Turin (Piemonte regione) – During this visit Prof. Živanović exchanged his experience with Massimo Accumolli, the Regional Corporate Manager. The topics discussed were credit approval procedure, managing credit risk with SMEs and corporate clients, credit colaterisation and credit target pricing. They noticed many similarities in procedures and practice between Italian and Serbian commercial banks in scope of SMEs and corporate landing..

3. Visit to Master BBA students on Tempus program at SAA – In Turin Prof. Živanović spent some time with Senad Lekpek and Nina Mihajlovic, Master BBA students on Tempus program at SAA. During this visit to the BBA students Prof. Zivanovic was informed about their studying experience, courses syllable and student's course work. It was a great satisfaction that professor Konstantinos Langas, Prof. of Business process design, analysis and reengineering, praised the BBA students as being the most hard working and best marked students on his course.

Prof. Alain Devalle and Prof. Živanović exchanged ideas on implementing Basel Accords in Italian and Serbian banking. Prof. Živanović is thankful for unselfish support of Prof. Giuseppe Dutto, who made his staying in Turing more purposeful.

Special experience to Prof. Živanović was discussing the aspects of financing and exporting of famous Barolo wine to Serbia and worldwide, in Renato Ratti winery, but frankly the biggest treat was tasting it.
