The Forum "Entrepreneurship Policy in Times of Crisis" Held at Corvinus University in Budapest

On 18 November 2009 the forum "Entrepreneurship Policy in Times of Crisis" was held at Corvinus University Budapest. The Corvinus University was as a main organizer in cooperation with European Council of Small Business and Entrepreneurship - ECSB and ERENET.
Over hundred participants from all over the world participated at the forum and two round tables were organized within the forum. The Head and moderator of the first part of the gathering was Professor David Smallbone, PhD from Kingston University, London. Professor Roy Thurik, PhD from Erasmus University, Rotterdam held a very interesting presentation on correlation of entrepreneurship and economic cycles
At the first Round Table "Entrepreneurship Policy in Times of Crisis" the following participants took part: Laszlo Kallay, State Secretary for Economic Development, Ministry for National Development and Economy, Government of Hungary, Thomas Cooney, PhD, Director of Dublin Institute of Technology and President of ECSB, Prof. David Smallbone, PhD, Kingston University &i Emmanouil Schizas, ACCA.
The second Round Table "Policies to Promote Entrepreneurship in Central and Eastern Europe: Identifying Good Practice" headed, as a moderator, Antal Szabo, PhD, ERENET Scientific Director. Professor Dejan Erić, IES Director talked about the efforts, the Government of Serbia makes to promote the entrepreneurship and to support small & medium business. Among the other participants, who took part in discussion were Professor Peter Szrimai from Corvinus University, Budapest, Desislava Yordanova from Sophia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Darija Kristić from Center for Entrepreneurship, Osijek, Croatia, Prof. Zsuzsanna Szabo, PhD from University Pertu Major from Romani, Marian Gal, PhD from Faculty of Economics, Technical University in Košice, & Jerzy Ciešlik from Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management, Poland.
Professor Erić presented the results of the project “The Reaction and Protection Mechanisms of Small Business against the Stress-factors of the International Financial and Economic Crisis in Some Countries of the Central Eastern European Region - Country Study of Serbia". Besides, this visit was an occasion to meet old friends and to make new contacts
