The joint organization of the Institute of Economic Sciences (IES), Belgrade Banking Academy (BBA), European Small Business Alliance (ESBA) and ERENET celebrated on 25. September 2009 the ERENET 4th Annual Meeting:
"THE SME SECTOR IN GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISES
- FINANCING SMEs "
ERENET is the network of entrepreneurship and small and medium researcher from the Central and East Europe region, situated in Budapest, while the regional office for South-East Europe is in Belgrade, at the Institute of Economic Sciences.

The conference was opened by Professor Dejan Erić, Director of IES, Professor Antal Szabo, Scientific Director of ERENET, Professor Hasan Hanić, President of the BBA Council and Ms. Tina Sommer, ESBA President. Professor Szabo presented the annual report on ERENET activities and preliminary work program for the next year.
The special guest at the Conference was the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Mr. Radovan Jelašić, addressing the audience.

At the Conference spoke the representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development Ms. Katarina Obradović-Jovanović, Director of the Republic Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, Mr. Goran Džafić, Ms. Ana Žegarac, Deputy Director of the Agency for International Cooperation, Mr. Istvan Kovacs, Maging Director Hungarian Enterprise Development Network Consortium, Dr. Vladimir Gazda, associate professor Facultyof Economics, Technical University of Košice.

The special attention was paid to the issues of financing the SMEs sector in global economic crisis. The speakers emphasised the necessity extending the line of alternative financing sources and faster development of financial institutional infrastructure.
