IES Representatives Participation at the International Conference in Opatija

The seventh International Conference “Economic Integrations, Competition and Cooperation” was held in the hotel “Ambasador” in Opatija on 2 & 3 April 2009. The conference was organized by Faculty of Economics, Rijeka, Faculty of Economics, Ljubljana, CEDIMES and University in Antwerpen.

Professor Dejan Erić, PhD, was one among many participants who presented his paper, prepared with Ivan Stošić, PhD & Saša Stefanović, MA titled “Privatization and Restructuring Process of Serbian Economy”. Srdjan Redžepagić presented two papers: ”Attractiveness of FDI in the Western Balkans: Evidence from the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC)” as a co-author with Professor Xavier Richet, PhD, University Paris 3 and the second paper:” Balkan Countries: Catching up and Their Integration in the European Financial System” as a co-author with Professors from University of Nice - Anna Tykhonenko & Fabienne Bonetto. Professor Redžepagić presided the  session ” Western Balkans: Trade, Cooperation and EU Integration Perspective”.

During the conference, IES Directors held a number of bilateral meetings.

During the talks, special attention was given to representatives of CEDIMES (Center for International Economic Studies of  Sorbonne University, Paris). IES representatives expressed their willingness to participate in CEDIMES activities and develop further cooperation.
