Presentation of Belgrade Tourism Development Strategy Draft in Formal Hall of Old Palace

On 20 November 2008, the presentation of Belgrade Tourism Development Strategy Draft was held in Formal Hall of Old Palace.

In the name of Secretary for Economy, which is the employer, Ms Stanija Višekruna, Secretary Assistant and Professor Dejan Erić, IES Director, welcomed the participants. The Strategy was presented by Professor Jovan Popesku, PhD, Bojan Zečević, PhD, one of Project Heads, and Mr Slobodan Mitrović, Spatial and City Planner.

The Strategy defines the strategic development trends and its main goal is to enable the re-affirmation of tourism as a significant and attractive metropolis of Southeast Europe and the Danube metropolis until 2018. The Strategy elaboration was very important to strengthen tourist development trends, so Belgrade could get higher position on tourist market and become competitive to other European metropolis. In addition, this will certainly provide greater foreign tourist trade, the maximum potentials efficiency and new future of Belgrade as one of new destinations on a global tourist market.
